Possibly struck by lightening twice

The first instance I’m referring to we were actually struck by real lightening. A, what seemed innocuous, storm rolled in town the other day and just as I decided to settle down and watch some TV (for the first time in days) we were jolted out of our seats by a huge blast. It looked like we were encased in light and I thought we were being pulled up by a UFO.

It was nuts and after the terror left me all I kept thinking about was how unlucky I was that my cable had gone out the only night I decided to watch TV in nearly a week. And I went to bed feeling sorry for myself not realizing that all my phones had been fried along with my modem/router, and motherboard of my computer. When I found this out the next day I thought, damn, I’m even unluckier than I thought.

It only took about a ton of people to remind me it could have been a lot worse and that I’m, in fact, a very lucky person.

So maybe I am. I don’t want to jinx it but the very day after the lightening struck I was contacted by casting for HGTV’s Don’t Sweat It! The producer’s are going to come out and meet with us this Friday. They still have to determine if our projects are worthy of a show so we’re no where close to having it in the bag. But it’s exciting none the less! I’ve actually gotten through to casting on two other shows but our projects weren’t big enough. This house is a blank slate and everything needs to be done. It would be so great to have something like this show to kick start us into gear. And the host is one of the home improvement loves of my life.

So I am feeling pretty lucky right now. Even if we don’t get the show.
