« Fat vs. muscle? I'm not so sure • Main • Update on the Explosion & Thank You » March 7, 2006ExplosionThis is why I haven't been able to post in a few days. The man across the street from us blew up his house and we were evacuated from our home. The family driving away in the last few seconds of this clip is my family (we are in our new green minivan). I'll explain more details later because the news doesn't capture the extent of it. You can also search for "lakewood" (california), "fireworks", & "brian miller". http://www.cbs2.com/video/?id=15088@kcbs.dayport.com Posted by hopeful @ March 7, 2006 8:22 AM CommentsDear God, that's scary! I'm glad you're okay. I hope your kitchen is okay too. So, now the practical/non-feeling side of me wonders will this affect the property value of your house? Holeeeeeeee chit! I'm glad you are alright, and I hope nothing happened to your house! Posted by: Chick at March 7, 2006 12:21 PM
Oh my goodness! Glad to see you're ok! Posted by: Nicole at March 7, 2006 12:23 PM
are you kidding me? Do we have the same car? Is that a Honda Odyssey?....I think we even have the same color. Hopeful....we have to stop living double lives here. (well, I guess the fact that you've lost a butt-load of weight will be our dividing factor :) Molly Posted by: Molly at March 7, 2006 12:56 PM
Wow....wow...wow. I'm so glad you and your family are safe, but that must've been quite shocking. I send my heart to you all on what happened. Was it a suicide house blaze with this guy? Or did he just blow it up?? If it was a suicide..That's not an easy thing to be around ... Posted by: Vivi at March 7, 2006 1:19 PM
SORRY FOLKS, SO SORRY, BUT DIDN'T REALIZE THAT IF I KEPT PRESSING MY 'POST' BEFORE GETTING THE MESSAGE THAT TELLS ME I HAD TO WAIT, YOUR MESSAGES WOULD STILL BE ON SCREEN. SORRY AGAIN! Posted by: Vivi at March 7, 2006 1:27 PM
No problem Vivi, I deleted the extras :-) Thanks All! We're thankfully OK. Once I'm home from work I'll write the detail about the damages to our house (the impact on our move, etc.) and the neighborhood. Molly you are so funny & yes I did just buy a new Honda Odyssey '06! It is that sage something green (I think) with the olive interior. It's so pretty and was amazingly unharmed in the blast despite being parked right infront of my house. I'll cover that in a more detailed description too. A miracle really. ~talk to you all when I get home Posted by: hopeful at March 7, 2006 4:26 PM
Dear God, that is scary and I am glad you are okay. What was that man thinking? I will continue to pray for your safety and happiness and send good vibes your way! Posted by: Hilly at March 7, 2006 6:32 PM
Unbelievable hope you and your family are ok Posted by: Amelia at March 7, 2006 6:37 PM
So not only do we have the same exterior, we have the exact same interior as well. Seriously? doo dee doo doo (your twilight theme song plays again) I failed to congratulate you on making it out of the bombing of your neighbor's house safely.....( I was too wrapped up in Odyssey glory).....so congrats doppelganger! :) Posted by: Molly at March 7, 2006 7:18 PM
Holy crap! It sucks though that there is damage to the house. Would that be covered by some sort of insurance? Like an insane-neigbour policy? Posted by: Monica at March 7, 2006 10:13 PM
Glad you are okay. I thought you were listing/selling your house, what does this do to those plans? Good luck on staying on track with food and exercise when your routine is disrupted. Posted by: Joan at March 8, 2006 5:46 AM
