Resolution, Shmezolution. 165!

I’ve gained two pounds back of the four I lost last week. And I’m pretty sure that it all happened in the New Year. It only took me two days to pack on two pounds. That means each day I ate an extra 3600 calories or so.

I drank a lot of wine on New Years Eve and the resulting hang over left me craving salty greasy foods. That’s gross. Then I continued to slack off because I didn’t have to work on Monday. In retrospect, that’s not really an excuse, although it does seem to be a trend of mine.

I do much better when I’m at work. Everyday is the same. There is a schedule and a routine that’s easy to stick to. Working out during lunch is the highlight of my day. Working out is easier to do, for me, than curbing my eating (for the time being, anyway.)

The weekends are the toughest and I tend to undo all the progress I’ve made during the week. I find myself wanting to go out to eat all the time as an escape. Eating an extra thousand calories a meal (at least) is a breeze anywhere you eat.

I’m going to give it a go yet again. I hope to get enough momentum going during the week to carry me through the weekend. My parents are coming to visit this weekend and will be staying for 2 weeks. We’ll be going down to San Diego for a mini-vacation and the rest of the time they’ll be staying here.

This will pose a new set of challenges. We’ll be eating out a lot and I’ll be in celebration mode. But my parents will be helping me with some home improvement and that always revives my motivation. I hoping that will get the ball rolling again and help me have more successful future weekends.
